Newfoundland and Labrador is very fortunate to have some of the best big game hunting and sport-fishing outfitters in Canada. Why? Because the province is blessed with an abundance of wild game, streams and lakes that are untouched in comparison to waters in other parts of the world.
The regular hunting season runs from early September thru to late October, each year. Bow hunting only, takes place the two weeks before the regular hunting season. Our Success Rates since 1971 (Moose - over 80%, Caribou - 100%). Emphasis is placed on Moose and Caribou. Bear is considered an incidental part of the hunt. Hence, only a nominal fee is charged for Bear in combination with either Moose or Caribou.
At each lodge, experienced local guides take sports enthusiasts to areas for Moose, Caribou, or Black Bear. Game is caped, quartered, and hung in the meat house near the lodge. Then, the meat is flown to Stephenville where, for a minimal fee, the meat is placed in cold storage where meat processing is available.
We have several hunters listed, high up, in the Boone & Crockett North American Big Game list, Safari International, and Pope & Young Bow Hunting Records of North America.
