About Us:

Located in the Prairie Pothole region of Manitoba, Birdtail Waterfowl Service is a waterfowlers paradise. The landscape is scattered with small lakes, sloughs and potholes. Puddle ducks gorge themselves in barley, wheat and pea fields while Mallards dive bomb potholes. Snows and Blue Geese fill the morning skies as well as abundant resident and migrating Canada Geese.

What makes us unique:

Our work ethic is world class. Whether clucking in a flock of geese, high bailin' a weary old green head, or scouting a field for tomorrow's hunt you will be amazed with the drive to produce the most memorable hunts. Our staff will give you and your party 100% from the moment you arrive...everything is looked after. The only thing we can't control is Mother Nature, but rest assured we are working on that!

About our trips:

Trips include transportation to and from the Winnipeg International Airport, Decoys and blinds, Professional guiding, Lodging and meals, First class service, 3 day packages, Limits: 5 dark geese, 8 ducks and 20 white geese. Possession limits are 15 dark geese, 16 ducks and 60 white geese. Sandhill cranes are extremely plentiful in our Pothole region and we will accommodate any of our guests who would like to experience a Manitoba Sandhill crane hunt. The daily limit is 5 and the possession limit is 10.

Our history:

I have been involved in the lodging industry since the mid 1990’s and will continue to take it to the next level. Birdtail Waterfowl Service is a business that is taken very seriously. I feel that there is a dream hunt out there every morning and every evening! Our success and work ethic is what separates us from the rest. Guiding for waterfowl in one of the most concentrated flyways in Canada has provided me with a great waterfowl education. Working in a professional environment has taught a great deal about running a successful waterfowl operation. There are many elements that go into having a great hunt and I pride myself in taking care of every detail. All good hunters know that it takes more than having great days in the field, to make a hunting trip, truly memorable!
