About Us:

Aventure Tunilik Outfitters is at the heart of the Far North, where nature is at its wildest. Today's hunter wants to relive that original contact with nature and experience its primeval feeling. This is what Aventure Tunilik Outfitters offers you in an environment that is definitely off the beaten track. Return to the simple life in Quebec's Far North, at the very heart of the mythical tundra. We bring you a unique experience: the grand tradition of hunting and fishing in the wilderness.

What makes us unique:

While staying with us, you will enjoy comfortable accommodations (lodge or camp) in the heart of Quebec's tundra. Every accommodation has wood flooring and plywood walls. Large windows offer an unrestricted view onto the nearby lake. In the lodge, a fully equipped kitchen allows you to appreciate our chef's "québécois" touch in earthy, generous meals. Our attentive personnel will make your stay a pleasant memory.

About our trips:

On our territories, caribou hunting season lasts from August 10th to October 4th. The total number of caribou roaming Quebec's Far North is estimated at one million head and forms three separate herds: the George River herd, the Leaf River herd and the Torngat Mountains herd. Our streams and rivers are overflowing with fish and the surrounding landscapes are adding to the experience of fishing. Our accommodations lodge and satellite camps are located near streams and rivers that are full of fish of the best kind. Some sites keep more than one kind of fish (Lake Char, Brook Trout, Northern Pike and the legendary Landlocked Salmon). Sometimes you might find some Artic Char.

Our history:

The nearest city, Schefferville, cannot be reached by car because no road leads there. A railway built in the 50's by the local iron mining company links Schefferville to Sept-Îles, the nearest town located 506 km (315 mi) further south. That is why the best way to get to Schefferville is by plane. The ground in Schefferville and the surrounding area is frozen all year long. This phenomenon is called "permafrost". Fishers take advantage of it and use the soil as a natural freezer during the summer, keeping their fish under moss.

Trips Offered:

Caribou Hunting, Quebec Hunting, Salmon Fishing, Trout Fishing, Quebec Fishing
