Les Guides de la Vallée Dumoine Lodge is located on the shores of the spectacular Ottawa river which surrounds the island and municipality of Rapides des Joachims (Swisha). The island is situated on the western border of Pontiac county in the Outaouais region
Come enjoy the pristine environment that will take your breath away. You will have the privilege to be surrounded by the most diverse deciduous forest in Québec where you will encounter the mighty White Pine as well as the Dumoine river which is considered to be the last wild river in southern Québec.
The Lodge offers fun filled outdoor activities like; canoeing on lakes and whitewater rivers, winter dog sledding, snowmobiling and all-terrain vehicles (ATV), hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoe trails, bird watching and wildlife observation. Our guided hunts include bear, moose, deer, and small game. The fishing is spectacular for walleye, pike, lake trout, and bass.
The lodge has been in operation since 1987. The owner, Daniel Tremblay will gladly accommodate you with lodging and outstanding services in an enchanted setting. We are located 10 minutes from Highway 17 between Ottawa and North Bay. Turn on road 635 North to the island of Rapides des Joachims on the Ottawa River. Les Guides de la Vallée Dumoine is registered and can provide you access to many seasonal aactivities. We cater to families or individuals, with comfortable overnight stays available in either the lodge or the cottage.
