About Us:

Alaska Hunting Adventures is a family operation.  Base camp is their homes.  You come into a wilderness setting and leave into a more remote wilderness setting specializing in a drawing area called the Tok Management Area.  We have one other drawing area which you have three choices once you apply.  We also do some Mt. Goat, brown and grizzly bear, & moose hunts.  As a client, you would want to hunt the Tok Management Area with some of the most professional and well respected guides in the business.  Hunt with Matt Snyder. Matt grew up next to the Tok Management Area. Matt's mom, Sue Entsminger and his step-dad, Frank Entsminger have been taking Matt backpack hunting into Dall sheep country since he was 7 years old.  This family's passion for Dall sheep hunting is legendary among professional hunters throughout Alaska and the rest of the U.S. When applying for the Tok Management Area, you must name the guide before the application.  You would want to choose Matt since he holds the licenses for all three guide areas in the Tok.

Located in the eastern Alaska Range, our homes and lives are based at the eastern edge of the Tok Management Area. About our trips:

Hunts are one guide to one client. Alaska Hunting Adventures has a land use agreement with the local Native Village to give a portion of the meat from your trophy to the village council in return for use of the land.   We provide lodging and meals at base camp, our homes, and in the field. Transportation to and from base camp and the field. We provide field dressing and packing out game to base camp area and proper care of cape, hide and meat until time of the client's departure. Client will thereafter be responsible.  You must arrive in Tok or Mile 91 Tok Cutoff.

Our history:

- Matt began Alaska Hunting Adventures in 1994.  Matt’s specialty is guiding for trophy Dall sheep rams in the Tok Management Area.  Matt and his family has trekked and hunted throughout the entire Tok Management Area over a period of four decades. No other guides can match their familiarity with this special area and its stupendous rams.  Matt, Sue and Frank have taken many outstanding rams over 40 inches for their clients.  They are congenial hunting companions with a strong personal commitment to the safety, comfort and success of their hunters.  You come as a client and leave as a friend.
